FROM THE NORTH SEA LOWLANDS TO THE CELTIC SHELF EDGE: RECONSTRUCTING CHANGING ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE PAST 500 KYRS

We are pleased to announce an interdisciplinary conference aimed at:
 exchanging and connecting knowledge on Middle-Pleistocene to present-day geological processes and landscape development, focusing on the North Sea lowlands but for an area extending to the Celtic Sea shelf edge;
 searching for direct and indirect signs of human presence in and colonization of these landscapes;

 exploring opportunities to profit from vast volumes of new subsurface data collected for windfarm development; and
 discussing potential topics and possible funding mechanisms for research linking late-Quaternary marine subsurface records from
north to south.
Our target audience includes Quaternary sedimentologists and geomorphologists, drowned-landscape geoarcheologists, experts on climate and sea-level change, GIA modelers, and (micro-) paleontologists. Expected number of participants: ca. 200.

The meeting will take place from Monday through Wednesday November 18-20, 2019 at Media Plaza, Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, the Netherlands.

This venue is right next to Utrecht Centraal railway station and therefore easy to reach from airports and other railway stations.
