New Cores from the North Sea

The Bradford Lost Frontiers Project team received their first new data sets Gardline’s MV Ivero survey ship raised 66 metres of marine cores from 20 separate locations within a large North Sea palaeochannel leading to the Outer Silver Pit.

The cores, taken for dating and environmental analysis including sedimentary DNA, first travelled to Bradford after which they have another journey to Trinity St Davids for sampling, by Dr Martin Bates, and despatching to project specialists at Birmingham and Warwick.
